The After Studios

A MUST DO:

Go to The After Studios. It is located at 3139A S. Grand Suite 202. Check it out! I recently attended the relocation grand opening of the spa studio. It was a blast checking out the new spot! It is gorgeous and has a stylish lofty feel...Lovin' the vibrant decor and interesting pieces incorporated into the design. One piece included, a "one of a kind" cabinet from the Nantucket collection made of exotic, reclaimed Indian boat teak wood made by Dovetail, done up just right with the beautiful teal from original paint and earthy colors pulled from it in one of the waxing rooms. There was an opportunity for a free consultation, refreshments, the enjoyment of music including the well known local artist, DJ Needles, and a percentage off the price of your next booking. Yes! I found out that you can get amazing facials done, waxing, and even take a photo shoot session afterwards! You can arrange for a spa party with your girls! Here is a little snip of a list of things offered from the official website below:

"we will customize a package just for you
wine and waxing
girls night out..."

I like the fact that it says, " wine and waxing" -that's all I need to know to have a good time relaxing. So, if you are in need of some chill time, personal time, or me time...Whatever you want to call it! This is a great place to explore to get the full on experience, whether it's your first time or you are used to this kind of pampering. It is surely worth it! If it will be your first time, you'll have a new found love where you can retreat. If you have done any of these types of activities before, then, you have not experienced the "best!" This is offered by the most knowledgeable estheticians!

Until Next Time

How to Get Rid Of Nail Fungus

So, my favorite remedy using ACV is for fighting Nail Fungus. Why? Because, I had a horrible toe nail fungus issue for years. Actually, I had it for almost as far as I can remember. Hey! I see you laughing! SO! Having a  nail fungus really sucks for people but it is even worse for girls or women. If you have this problem or have had it, you know why automatically! It is embarrassing to wear pretty sandals or open toe shoes, which is often the right look for an outfit...Summertime is a bust! Seriously, I have avoided going out with my friends to swimming events when I was younger because I didn't want anyone to see my dark toe nails. When I was younger, I hid my feet a lot when company would come over because I was afraid they would notice and talk about me. Even if they were kind enough not to talk about me , which was usually the case because I know awesome people, but I still didn't want them to know what they looked like. I could name many memories regarding this but I wont. Lets move on...

HOW TO:
This one is really easy. Get a bottle of Apple Cider Vinegar from your local grocery store! It won't cost more than 2 or 3 dollars depending on the size you get. However, Bragg is a really good brand that is very potent! I get the cheap one and I get the big jug. Lasts for a month or so. It will run you about 10 to 15 dollars and is found in Whole Food Stores typically.

This is Bragg. Anyway, to try this the first time, I recommend mixing 1 part ACV and 2 parts water in a large container of some sort. Yo just need it big enough to fit your feet into or foot if it's only one foot infected. Soak your feet/foot in the solution of water and ACV for 10 to 30 minutes. If you can, do this everyday! In a few weeks to a month you should start to see results. You will start to see that your nails are clearing up at the base of your nail (where they grow out), not from the tip. Your infected nails have to grow out. Some say that it takes a year  or two to completely clear out. Here is what I have to say to that: It will take months, however, I noticed my nails getting quite clear after about 5 to 6 months. I have not stopped using this remedy but I did break using it everyday when my schedule changed. My nails were horrible and they are so much better now. That's hard because it is time consuming. So, if you can not do this everyday, don't worry. Start out doing as many days a week as you can. (I used to forget some days) But, if you start to do this and you can dedicate more days to doing this than not, you will see results. After a few months and you start to see results, then you will be able to lighten up on how often you use the solution.

Some also say that you can reuse the same solution by just using a large container that you can put a top on and store off to the side somewhere for a week, a few days, or whatever time frame. I don't recommend that because after you take your feet out it will be dirty. It's like bath water to me, so I always empty it out and start clean and fresh everyday. Wash your feet after you are done soaking them and the container. Make sure you keep your feet clean and dry.

On days that you can't soak your feet for lack of time or whatever (I know you have a life to live LOL), try tea tree oil! It works too! I bought a little bottle of tea tree oil. Put a little on the infected nails after you take a bath or shower or when you remember to do it! I got a little applicator brush from something I had, don't remember what, but it fit perfectly and I use that! This will insure that you are fighting the bacteria causing fungus so you can get your healthy nails back! FYI ACV does have a pretty loud and sour smelling odor, so you will want to wash your feet instinctively anyway. Also keep your nails clipped so soaking is most effective but don't clip them beyond your nail bed creating a nubby looking nail. That is not cute or healthy (more importantly), doing that can set up an infection which may be how you got it in the first place.

Common Causes:
Nails clipped down too far (nubby look),
moisture and bacteria from activities such as swimming and then not being cleaned well,
naturally sweaty feet and wearing the same socks twice (just because you didn't wear your clean socks but for an hour one day and they don't smell or look dirty doesn't mean you can wear them again before you wash them,
wearing other peoples shoes,
athletic activities were your feet can become sweaty,
and injuries

After your nails look completely clear, I suggest continuing to soak them for one more additional month to make sure all the bacteria is gone and once every other week periodically after that for another couple of months to make sure it's gone. You'll know when your nails are all clear.

What does nail fungus look like? Ugly. The nail will first appear with a little white spot, then greenish yellow, and brown if it is really bad. Nails can look like they are deteriorating, peeling, or have brown lines growing in the same direction of the nail growth. Dark lines can also be something more serious, so get that checked out if you also have other symptoms of illness and it's not just your nails. The dark lines are actually little eruptions in the blood vessels near your nail. Dead giveaway that your nail is not healthy.

Best of all you wont need to spend your money on expensive cures trying to find what works and many don't! I've tried my share. Let me know if it works for you!

A Rave About Home Remedies: ACV

So, I just wanted to say that Home Remedies are amazing! Not all home remedies are great but they are great to try! Some work wonders and some do not work...at least they do not work for everyone! There are some that I have tried and some that just seem plain dumb or dangerous if you don't understand what you are doing! So do your research and add some common knowledge before trying anything.

My friend is ACV! That stands for Apple Cider Vinegar, if you don't all ready know. It is great for all sorts of things. I don't know any of the remedies to use acv alone, though. Usually you have to mix it with some measurement of water and/or other ingredients. It is God's own natural creation! So, OF COURSE it's great! Reminds me of the "apple a day..." saying. Simple, but it works wonders for the right situation. Here are a few things that it is good for:

A DRY SCALP
NAIL FUNGUS
COMMON COLD SYMPTOMS
FACIALS
A FACIAL ASTRINGENT
A FOOD INGREDIENT
WEIGHT LOSS...SO I'VE HEARD
AND MORE!

Another really awesome item used for home remedies is baking soda and/or baking powder!

Look it up!
